Achieve Your Goals with GLP-1 and GIP Weight Loss Treatments

What are GLP-1 and GIP agonists?
GLP-1s, such as Ozempic and Wegovy, and GIP agonists, like Mounjaro and Zepbound, are naturally occurring hormones in your gut that help regulate digestion and appetite. These medications make you feel full faster and stay full longer. While FDA-approved for diabetes, Wegovy and Zepbound are specifically approved for weight loss.
Weight loss results vary depending on individual factors, but studies show impressive outcomes. With Mounjaro and Wegovy/Ozempic, patients see a 10%-20% reduction in body weight beyond diet and exercise alone. Saxenda users typically experience around a 9% reduction. Long-term success also requires healthy lifestyle changes, including a nutritious diet, regular exercise, and quality sleep.
You may be a candidate if your BMI is over 30, or over 27 with a related condition like high blood pressure or diabetes. However, individuals with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MENS2 are not eligible. If you meet these criteria, you likely qualify!
Most side effects are mild and temporary, often resolving within a few weeks. Common side effects include nausea, heartburn, diarrhea, and constipation. These can typically be managed with hydration, over-the-counter remedies, or additional prescriptions if needed.
Most GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP medications are given as a once-weekly, nearly painless injection. Saxenda requires a daily injection, while oral weight loss is available as a daily pill.
Costs depend on several factors, but we’ll work hard to find cost-effective solutions for you. If you have certain conditions, like diabetes, we can also explore insurance coverage options. Currently, Saxenda, Wegovy, and Zepbound are the only GLP-1 medications FDA-approved specifically for weight loss.
It depends on your situation. For temporary weight gain due to life events, you may be able to taper off the medication once lifestyle changes are in place. For those with chronic obesity due to genetics, diabetes, or other factors, a small regular dose may be needed indefinitely. We’ll work together to create a long-term plan, including nutritional and fitness support, and referrals to specialists or support groups if needed. My goal is to help you maintain your success!
Yes! I also offer options like Contrave, Phentermine, and Qsymia. Additionally, I partner with a supplement company to optimize your nutrition alongside diet and exercise. Note: Controlled substances require an in-office consultation.
